Biosynth Celebrates Silver Sustainability Achievements with EcoVadis Awards

2024-12-06

Sustainability is “meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”

We are pleased to announce that Biosynth has achieved a silver rating in sustainability from EcoVadis at two of our sites, Dublin and Staad in 2024. Highlighting our continued commitment to our green goals and reducing our CO2 footprint.

EcoVadis evaluates 21 sustainability criteria across four main areas: Sustainable Procurement, Environment, Ethics, and Labour & Human Rights. Previously having held bronze ratings at Dublin and Staad, Biosynth secured Silver for 2024. Partly due to our clear environmental, labor & human rights policies. We also set up a green council that collaborated and focused on carbon reduction measures.

As a company within the life sciences sector, we understand the importance of researching sustainable methods for manufacturing and developing our products. This rating highlights our ongoing dedication to creating secure and sustainable supply chains for our customers. Recognizing the vital role that suppliers play in the development of sustainable products and services.

As part of our continued commitment to building sustainable supply chains, we established a global green manufacturing council at Biosynth that spans across our divisions: Complex Chemicals, Peptides, and Biologics.   Jannis Kuepper, our Head of Sustainability, recently commented, "This council ensures that we capture knowledge, share innovative technologies, and collaborate on problem-solving. For example, this cross-divisional involvement allows us to find biological solutions for chemical projects." This commitment to collaboration enables us to leverage our collective expertise in driving sustainable practices within our organization.
